Early Life and Background

Jeong Yoonchae (정윤채), born on December 6, 2007, in Sinjeong-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, South Korea, is a South Korean singer and dancer. She is best known as the youngest member (maknae) of the global girl group KATSEYE. 

From a young age, Yoonchae was inspired by the global success of BTS, which motivated her to pursue a career in K-pop. In 2020, at the age of 13, she enrolled in a dance academy to hone her skills. 

Journey Through "The Debut: Dream Academy"

In 2023, Yoonchae participated in HYBE and Geffen Records' survival show, "The Debut: Dream Academy." Despite joining the program later than some contestants, her exceptional talent and dedication led her to secure 4th place in the finale, earning her a spot in the newly formed girl group KATSEYE. 

During the competition, Yoonchae showcased her versatility by performing songs like Le Sserafim's "Antifragile," highlighting her strong stage presence and vocal abilities.

Debut and Activities with KATSEYE

KATSEYE officially debuted on June 28, 2024, with their single "Debut." The group, composed of members from various countries, including the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States, represents a new wave of global K-pop. 

Following their debut, KATSEYE released their first EP, "SIS (Soft Is Strong)," and continued to gain international recognition with performances at events like the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball and KCON festival. Yoonchae, as the youngest member, has been praised for her growth and adaptability in the group.
